THE PROBLEM WITH EXISTING FR YARNS

Flame retardancy (FR) in yarns has been existing for quite some time.
The problem, in the example of Polyester high tenacity yarns, is that the FR additives
lower tenacity values and increase shrinkage. A high tenacity value and a low shrinkage are however the crucial characteristics of a good Polyester high tenacity yarn.

HOW DOES SWICOSTOP REINVENT FLAME RETARDANCY?

SwicoStop is a flame retardant Polyester high tenacity yarn, developed in collaboration of Serge Ferrari Tersuisse SA with different partners. Unlike all other Polyester high tenacity yarn with flame retardant properties, SwicoStop does not compromise on values, as SwicoStop underlies a newly invented technology.

This enables SwicoStop to have flame retardant characteristics whilst providing the crucial characteristics of a Polyester high tenacity yarn, a high tenacity value and low shrinkage properties.
