YARN CARRIER DESCRIPTION

What are bobbins? How do they look like? What kind of different cylinders are there and what differentiates them? Answers to the basic yarn carrier questions.
When it comes to yarn, there are different types to put up the yarn in order for it to work on machines. The suitable put up type depends therefore mostly on what machine you are working with rather than the yarn or the material itself.

Roughly, there are seven different kinds of yarn carriers:

COPS

Parameter Description Cops

  • D1-D4: various diameters according to drawing

  • L: overall length of cops

CONES

Cones are mostly used for knitting.

Parameter Description Cones

  • Di: interior diameter at bottom of cones

  • L: overall length of cones

  • α: angle of cone
