PA66 is decomposed by concentrated mineral acids as well as halogens. Solvents of PA66 are phenols and penol/chlorinated hydrocarbon mictures. Furthermore, PA66 is relatively unaffected by hydrocarbons, esthers, ehters, oils and concentrated alkalis.
PA66 as a textile material is:
- exceptionally strong
- elastic
- abrasion resistant
- lustrous
- easy to wash
- resistant to damage from oil and many chemicals
- can be pre-coloured or dyed in wide range of colours
- resilient
- low in moisture absorbency
- filament yarns provide smooth, soft, longlasting fabrics
- spun yarns lend fabrics light weight and warmth
