Polyvinyl Alcohol PVAL

Polyvinyl Alcohol, abbreviated either PVAL or PVOH, is a water-soluble polymer. It is used for coatings, papermaking as well as textiles as adhesion, timely limited fixation or in terms of its property to dissolve in water. PVAL is however not soluble in oils, fats or organic alcohols like ethanol.

PVAL is synthezised by hydrolysis of polyvinylacetate, is odorless and non-toxic.
